His wife Elsie does not recall exactly what happened to the chickens and supposed that they (along with the rabbits) must have been eaten.3,4

James Frederick Ogles was retired in 1974 Barking, Essex, Essex.4

His nephew Dale recalls his uncle Jimmy always having a joke and a smile for him and his brothers when they visited. He could roll his own cigarettes (roll-ups) in one hand (maybe because of his thumb injury during WWII?), but he always told his nephews not to smoke when when he was rolling up in front of them.3

James Frederick Ogles died on 14 March 1986 at home, at age 66 of emphysema.6,2,4,7 He was buried in Upney Cemetery, which is located in Barking, Essex.3,4
