    Denis Henry Hill1 (M)

         Denis Henry Hill was born on 12 December 1928 in Exeter, Devon.1

    He was also known as Wacker as he was known to throw his clubs up into the trees in anger rather than resolving to spend more time on the finer points of his stroke.1,2

    Circa 1964, Denis Henry Hill married Mary (--?--) in England.1

    Denis died on 24 December 2002 at home in Devon, at age 74 of a heart attack as confirmed by an autopsy.1,3

    A Church of England service was held at St. Paul's Church in Honiton, Devon, The program stated that "As a fitting tribute to a great musician, the Collection at the end of the Service will be given to the St. Paul's Junior Choir Stalls Fund." Following the interment, a reception was held at the Honiton Golf Club, where Denis' wife and daughters invited the mourners to "join them to reflect on the life of a great Honitonian, over a glass of whiskey and a vol-au-vent (Denis' favourites!)."1,3

         He was described as adopted by his sister Mary, although I don't know if he was a natural child of his mother and adopted by James Orion Holloway, or if he was adopted by both of them and thus not related to either by blood.2 James Orion Holloway, son of James Clifford Holloway and Sara Elizabeth McCullough, was born on 19 September 1929 in Steubenville, Ohio.

    On 15 May 1954, James Orion Holloway married Rose in Rosendale, New York.3
