They lived at a rented farm.. Other members of the household were a housekeeper, Florence Philips (recorded as 29 years old), and two boarders who worked as farmhands, Louis Ruggie (recorded as 62 years old) and Ray Ruggie (recorded as 24 years old).2 Alice is indicated as having borne three children, all of which were still living.2
